Many organizations are moving towards more cohesive internal communication strategies, where employees expect important business communication to come through official platforms such as Google Chat.
Your Joyous campaigns can reach employees where they already spend their time by sending conversations and notifications via Google Chat chat with our notification app.
About this integration
The Joyous app for Google Chat is a chat bot that can:
- Send direct messages to Chat users with links to Joyous conversations or notifications.
The Joyous app receives minimal permissions to operate and has no broader access to your Google Workspace system. For more information see the appendix on permissions at the bottom of this page.
Prerequisites
Joyous requires some information about your Google Chat configuration before the app can be installed.
Domain ID or domains
Provide the Domain ID of your Google Workspace instance to your Joyous account representative. This is a non-sensitive piece of information that does not allow Joyous any access any data in your Google Workspace system.
If you are unable to provide the Domain ID, you can alternatively list the domains (e.g. joyoushq.com) for which you use Google Workspace.
People Data
The data you send to Joyous must include the same email address used to sign into Google Workspace.
Install the Joyous App for Google Chat
Installation can only be performed by a user with the Super Admin role in Google Workspace.
- Send the Domain ID or domains to your Joyous account representative (see Prerequisites)
- Your Joyous account representative will notify you when your account has been configured
- Sign in to Google Workspace as a Super Admin
- Find the Joyous app in the Marketplace
- Perform an Admin Install
What happens next?
Your people in the Joyous platform will be connected to their user profiles in Google Chat. This process can take up to 48 hours to complete after the installation.
